Effie S. Grove

Mrs. Effie S. Grove, 93, of Guys Mills, died at her home Tuesday, January 11, 1966, after an illness of one year.

Mrs. Grove was born at Black Ash, Randolph Township, January 1, 1873.  She was a daughter of Horace and Hannah Bogardus Teed.  She married Jesse Grove on May 21, 1889.  He died in 1932.

Mrs. Grove was a member of Black Ash Methodist Church, Mt. Hope Grange and the Farmers Alliance and its Aux.  She was an active musician, playing the piano at meetings of these organizations until her illness a year ago.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Edith Smith of Black Ash; two sons, Clyde and Forest of Black Ash; three grandchildren, Mrs. Neva Gray, Richard Smith and Howard Grove; three great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Black Ash Cemetery.
