Katherine H. Beatty

Katherine H. Beatty, 82, of Meadville, died Tuesday, March 25, 1975, after a long illness at the United Methodist Nursing Hospital where she had been a patient for two years.

Born in Beaver County on July 25, 1882, she was a daughter of George and Grace Tower Hughes.  She was the widow of D. Ray Beatty who died in 1960.

Mrs. Beatty was a 1915 graduate of Spencer Hospital School of Nursing and was a member of the school's alumnae association and of Stone United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. L.W. (Shirley) Gehrt of Meadville; a brother, Rupert Hughes of Meadville; three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son and a brother.

Service were held at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
