Russell T. Schreckengost

Russell T. Schreckengost, 67, of Meadville, died at St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada, Friday, June 22, 1979, after a sudden illness.

He was born in Saegertown, July 18, 1911, a son of Roe and Hanna Cole Schreckengost.  He married Anne Kireta on August 14, 1943.

Schreckengost was employed for 40 years by Talon Division of Textron.  He attended Emmanuel United Church of Christ and was a member of Masonic Lodge 234, New Castle Consistory, Zem Zem Temple of Erie and the Marine Corps League.  He served in the US Marines during World War II in the South Pacific theater.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert R. of Meadville and Dennis R. of Erie and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
