Alice M. Dwyer

Mrs. Alice M. Dwyer, 65, of Saegertown, mother of State Sen. R. Budd Dwyer, died Wednesday, June 21, 1972, at Spencer Hospital.

She was born at Beach Lake, Wayne County, May 16, 1907, a daughter of Horace F. and Jessie M. Goodenough Budd.  She married Robert M. Dwyer October 3, 1936.

Mrs. Dwyer was a graduate of Bloomsburg State College and taught schools at Beach Lake, Lansdale and Townville.  She was a member of Crawford County Retired Teachers Assn., Golden Crown Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Revolution, First Baptist Church and its Plus Ultra Class.

Surviving besides her husband and Sen. Dwyer, are a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Mary Ruth) Kun of Omaha, NE; her mother of Honesdale; two brothers, William Budd of Honesdale and Joseph Budd of Schwenksville, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  A sister, Ruth, preceded her in death.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
