Anna J. Clawson

Anna J. Clawson, 73, of Meadville, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998 at Meadville Medical Center following an extended illness.

She was born August 26, 1924 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Rodney and Kathryn VanHorn Hazen.  She married Harry M. Clawson March 23, 1946.  He preceded her in death February 16, 1998.

Mrs. Clawson was a graduate of Meadville High School.  She was a homemaker and subsequently worked at GTI Corporation of Saegertown for 10 years and Spectrum Control of Saegertown for 17 years.  She especially loved crafts and sewing.

She was a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women.

Survivors include two sons, Mr. Terry (Denise) Clawson of Saegertown and Mr. David (Peggyjo) Clawson of Windsor, VA; one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Kathy) Higham of Meadville; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and three sisters, Dorothy Reese of Cleveland, OH; Martha Williams of Meadville; and Mildred Roesch of Erie.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carmen Hazen and a sister, Lucille Lawrence.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
