Arthur L. Lehman

Arthur L. Lehman, 89, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there unexpectedly, Friday, September 4, 1998.

He was born in McKees Rocks, PA, October 30, 1908, a son of Louis and Fannie Wilson Lehman.  He married Doris Klinginsmith August 23, 1938.  She survives.

Mr. Lehman retired as a Biology teacher at Meadville High School in 1971 after 40 years of service.  He was also the high school tennis coach for many years.

He was a graduate of McKees Rocks High School, a 1931 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Education and a 1950 graduate of Penn State University with a MA in Education.  He was a veteran of World War II with the US Army in the European theater.  He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge #408, Scottish Rite Bodies of New Castle, Zem Zem Shrine Temple of Erie, Crawford County Shrine Club and Meadville Kiwanis Club.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a niece who lives in California.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister and a brother, Earl Lehman.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
