Betty L. (Pee Wee) Southworth

Betty L. (Pee Wee) Southworth, 89, of Meadville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at her residence with her daughter Elizabeth by her side.

She was born April 22, 1935 in Meadville, a daughter of Arden and Cora Shipman Betts.  She married Lawrence (Shorty) Southworth November 22, 1956 and he preceded her in death December 29, 1998.

Betty was a homemaker.  She avidly enjoyed doing word search puzzles, antiquing, and using her CB radio where her handle was BL.  She had beautiful hand writing, had a very open and giving heart, and didn’t know a stranger.

Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her children, Elizabeth Petruso of Meadville, Clyde Southworth (Kim) of Tupelo, MS, and Karen Southworth of St. Helens, OR; and twenty grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two grandsons, Clyde Fashbaugh and C.J. Southworth; and thirteen brothers and sisters.

Calling hours are Wednesday, May 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where a celebration of life will follow at 1:00 p.m.

Inurnment will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
