Billie-Jo “Jody” Leech, age 74, of Meadville, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026.
She was born in Meadville on October 30, 1951, the daughter of William Bell.
Jody was a 1969 graduate of Meadville High School and dedicated 54 years of service to the Crawford County Court of Common Pleas, where she was employed as a Clerk of Courts and ultimately retired as Deputy Clerk.
On October 9, 1976, Jody married her High School sweetheart Dean Leech, he passed away on September 12, 2013.
Jody was deeply passionate about her community and proudly served as Chair of the Crawford County Republican Party. She had incredible knowledge and appreciation for history and politics and could always be counted on to share what she knew. Outside of work and community service, Jody enjoyed traveling, crafting, knitting, and reading. She was, without a doubt, Amazon’s number one customer and took great joy in finding things for herself and those she loved.
Above all, Jody was a devoted mother and grandmother who absolutely loved spoiling her grandchildren. She was fiercely stubborn, in the very best way, and never afraid to stand her ground. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like family, considering her children’s friends her own and welcoming them with open arms.
Jody was passionate, selfless, kind, and generous, always putting the people she loved before herself.
She leaves this world with us knowing she is finally at peace and reunited with her beloved late son and husband, whom she missed dearly.
She is survived by three daughters, Lindsy Scholtz (Stephen) of Fair Lawn, NJ, Ashley Leech (Ajay Laxman) of Nashville, TN, Shalon Leech of Meadville; a son Garrett Leech of Cambridge Springs; two sisters, Toni and Karen; 8 grandchildren, Zander, Ella, Laynee, Paislee, Gavin, James, Kai, Leo; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, husband Dean, a son, Travis, and two nephews, Jason and Michael.
Family and Friends will be received on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE PA, 16335. A Funeral Service will be held on September 1st, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home with Rev. Dustin Heath officiating.
