Bonita I. Murphy

Bonita “Bonnie” I. Murphy, age 83 of Meadville passed away Saturday afternoon, January 4, 2025.

She was born in Meadville on June 25, 1941, a daughter of Carlton E. and Mary Alice (Brown) Holder. On September 23, 1961, Bonnie married Gerald E. “Jerry” Murphy, he passed away May 18, 2016. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Meadville.

She was employed as the financial Secretary at First Presbyterian Church for 25 years, retiring in 2000. 

She is survived by three children, Patrick Murphy and his wife Jonette of Pittsburgh, Kerry Murphy and his wife Debbie of Roanoke, VA, and Kelly Murphy and her husband Jim Liguori of Canonsburg, PA; five grandchildren; Brittney, Breanna, Patrick, Jr., Ashley, and Hayley; several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday 1-9-25 at 11:00 AM in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. 581 CHESTNUT ST. MEADVILLE with Rev. Dr. Daniel Corll, officiating. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday 1-8-25 from 5:00-7:00 PM. 

Burial will be in Cochranton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Yolando G. Barco Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Rd. Meadville, PA 16335.
