Burton William Dain

October 25, 1883 — January 1, 1753

Burton William Dain, of Meadville, a prominent Meadville merchant, died last night at Meadville City Hospital following a long illness.  He was 71.

He operated a meat market at the corner of Grove and State streets for 41 years.  He was first associated with Reece P. Clark and later with a son, Robert, in the business.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and served there as an elder for many years.

He also was affiliated with Lodge 408, F&AM, Solomon Royal Arch Chapter 191, Northwest Commandery 25 and New Castle Consistory.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elma Maloney Dain; a daughter, Mrs. Aileen Prodan of Culver City, CA; three sons, Robert, Paul and Richard, all of Meadville; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held with the Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
