Charles Augustus Waldschmidt, Jr.

Charles Augustus Waldschmidt, Jr., 82, of Conneaut Lake died Wednesday, December 18, 2002, at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Pittsbrugh August 16, 1920, a son of Charles Augustus and Georgia Winter Waldschmidt, Sr.  He married Constance Meyer, who preceded him in death August 17, 1991.

He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Meadville.

He was a graduate of Allegheny College.  He was a veteran of World War II as a naval aviator in the Pacific Theater of Operations, earning the rank of lieutenant.

He retired as a self-employed manufacturers representative.  He was a member of a number of professional and social organizations in the area.

Survivors include two sons, Chad Waldschmidt (Carole) of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Bob Waldschmidt (Doris) of Brentwood, TN; his companion of 10 years, Jackie Houserman of Conneaut Lake; and four grandchildren, Christopher Waldschmidt, Heidi Indrawan, Carrie Urbas and Brad Walschmidt.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorthea Stater.

Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.

Interment of cremated remains was in Christ Church Episcopal Columbarium.
