Charles B. Owens

Charles B. (Chuck) Owens, 77, of Meadville, died Wednesday, January 13, 1999 at Meadville Medical Center. He was born in Granite City, IL, December 22, 1921, a son of Burr and Alice Sharrer Owens. He married Mary Wright May 31, 1945. She survives. He retired in 1982 as a foreman of plastics manufacturing at C & J Industries after 12 years of service. Previously, he worked for 26 years for the Keystone View Co. He was a veteran of WWII in the South Pacific, having served in the US Navy. He had also been a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps in Edwardsville, IL. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and his dog, Feather. Survivors, in addition to his wife of 53 years, include three daughters, Mary Alice Recubero (Peter) of Wake Forest, NC, Linda Peelman (William) of Meadville and Beth Chappel of Meadville; a son, Thomas Owens (Patricia) of Pomono, IL; three grandchildren, David Peelman, Amber Peelman and Lisa Wishard and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Honerkamp. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home. Interment was in Wayland Cemetery. Services Past Services
