Charles Allen Bish, Sr.

Charles Allen Bish, Sr., “Papa” to 5 children, grandfather to 19 wonderful boys and girls and men and women from ages 13-45, and great-grandfather to 17, passed away at his treasured cabin surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

“Papa” shared his cabin, pond, and many beautiful acres with his family and friends during many celebrations over the decades: family reunions, deer hunts, trout fishing days, graduation parties and sled riding days. He was happiest outside hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Born January 20, 1936, to a son of John and Pearl Keefer-Bish, he spent his earliest years in Clarendon, PA and most of his remaining years in Crawford County area. He was a 1953 graduate of Meadville High School and continued his studies at Edinboro Teacher’s College and the University of Minnesota. He retired from Slippery Rock University.

He was preceded in death by his wife Anne, his parents, his sister Saundra, and a great-grandson, David.

He is survived by five children, Ron (Valorie), Judi (Dan Harry), Charles Jr. (Tanya), Barry (Karen), and Dan (Michelle). He is further survived by a very special friend, Nancy Briskee.

Cremation was chosen and there will be no services at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC. 581 CHESTNUT ST. MEADVILLE. Memorial contributions may be made to Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Rd., Meadville, PA 16335.
