Charles E. Manning, age 76, of Meadville passed away Saturday morning September 12, 2026, in Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.

He was born in Barberton, OH on April 2, 1950, the son of Jack and Pauline (Barre) Manning.

He was a 1969 graduate of Cochranton High School.

Charlie began his first job at the age of 13, working for a local farmer, Easley DuPont. After graduation, he was employed as a Polisher at Channellock from June 1969 through April 2015. During his years at Channellock, he was an active member of the United Steel Workers Union local 1917 as a steward, grievance person, and negotiator.

On September 27, 1980, Charlie married the former Marsha Busch, she survives.

Charlie was a lifetime associate member of the VVNW Post #52 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family

In addition to his wife of 45 years, he is survived by a daughter, Marlie Manning and her husband Daniel Weaver of Franklin; a sister, Paula Anderson of Utica; a brother-in-law, Dan Busch of Meadville three grandchildren, Olivia Weaver (Clint), Alaina Weaver, and Dakota Weaver; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John Manning, and brother-in-law, James Anderson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the VVNW Post #52, 13216 Dunham Road, Meadville, PA 16335. Arrangements have been entrusted to ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
