Charles D. “Chuck” Montgomery, Wolf Creek Twp., Grove City, Pa. passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday (10-10-25). He was 92.
Born December 16, 1932 in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of Charles B. and Hattie I. Jones Montgomery.
He was a 1950 graduate of the former Sandy Lake High School.
Chuck grew up on the Maple Grove Farm, which his family established in 1797. He was very proud of being a dairy farmer and of the fact that he still lived and worked the farm that had been the family legacy for over two centuries. He and wife Donna raised their family there and operated as a Holstein dairy farm until 1997 when they became a grain operation, raising corn, hay and soy beans. He also had worked at the Cooper-Bessemer a few years along with running the farm. He was a member of the Mercer County Farmer’s Union and was a great supporter of promoting agriculture.
He was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.
Chuck married Donna J. Rickert January 8, 1954 and she preceded him in death October 28, 2016.
Survivors include two daughters: Laura L. (Steven) Paxton and Margaret R. “Maggie” (Ralph) Oakes, Jr. and a son Dale L. Montgomery, all of Grove City along with nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Visitation: 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM Tuesday (10-14-25) in The Rose & Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro and 10:00 until 10:45 AM, Wednesday (10-15-25) at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, 2426 Scrubgrass Road, Grove City.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Wednesday (10-15-25) in the church with Pastor Jean Smith, officiating.
Interment: Union Home Cemetery, Wolf Creek Twp.
