Christine Audene Guthrie, age 75, of Cochranton, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in Meadville on June 29, 1950, the daughter of Richard and Sally (Fordham) Swavey.
Christine graduated from Cochranton High School and on March 10, 1970, she married Harry James Guthrie, Jr., he passed away on August 24, 2019.
She worked at Morco in Cochranton for many years and later in life worked at Stefanelli’s Candies.
She was a faithful member of St. Brigid Catholic Church and volunteered at the church food kitchen. She loved decorating and gardening around her home. Christine was an outstanding cook and baker. Everyone looked forward to her pies and cookies, and she always made enough to share with everyone! She was extremely devoted to tending to the graves of all her family members, honoring their memory with quiet devotion. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Christine was a loving and caring mother, proud Grammy, and a very caring great Grammy.
Survivors include a daughter, Christine Andrews and her companion Mark Howell of Hartstown; a son, James Guthrie (Connie) of Townville; six grandchildren, Lachelle Lindsey (Nick), Landon Andrews, Lindsey Andrews (Steve), Cienna Guthrie, Joseph Guthrie and James Guthrie; two great-grandsons, Trystan and Talon; two brothers, Dana Swavey (Alice) of Cochranton and Scott Swavey (Lori) of Meadville, and several other brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by a sister, Debbie Bowler.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water Street, Meadville with Fr. Kyle Seyler as Celebrant. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 581 CHESTNUT STREET, MEADVILLE.
Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
