Clara J. Mitchell

Mrs. Clara J. Mitchell, 92, who had been residing at Hillside Home since May 15, 1961, died at the home Saturday evening, October 6, 1973, after an illness of several months.

She was born in French Creek Township, Mercer County, February 17, 1881, a daughter of James A. and Margaret Cargo Johnston.  She was the widow of Charles P. Mitchell who died in 1922.

Mrs. Mitchell was employed as an attendant at Polk State School for several years.  She was a member of Cochranton United Presbyterian Church and the Golden Agers of Stoneboro and Cochranton.

Survivors include two nephews, Leslie Moore of Carlton and Francis J. Moore of Meadville; two nieces, Mrs. James (Grace) Straw of Meadville and Mrs. Merle (Marion) Dent of Stevensville, MI; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in New Lebanon Cemetery.
