Clyde M. Barton

Clyde M. Barton, age 89, of Meadville, passed away Monday evening February 16, 2026, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.

He was born October 12, 1936, in East Liverpool, Ohio, the son of Nelson and Nellie (Winters) Barton.

Clyde was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He was a graduate of East Liverpool High School and Youngstown State University and proudly served his country in the United States Army. On April 18, 1964, he married the love of his life, the former Louise Franko, who preceded him in death on February 12, 2018. 

Clyde was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing bridge, rooting for his Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State Buckeyes and being outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family whether it was traveling with Louise to visit their many friends or to family reunions, golfing with his daughters, or watching his grandchildren pursue their passions. He cherished every moment spent with those that mattered most.

He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Americas Church.

Clyde is survived by his daughters, Laura Weber (Rick) of Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania and Beth Lutkauskas (Greg) of Naples, Florida; brothers, James Barton (Beulah) and Fred Barton (Rnet); grandchildren, Sarah Murchison (Andrew), Ben Weber, J.P. Lutkauskas, Danny Lutkauskas; sister-in-law Sybille Barton and Mary Lou Barton; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Morgan and Bob Barton; sister Lillian Badger (Bob); and sister-in-law Eileen Clemente (Sam).

Per Clyde’s wishes, cremation was chosen, and there will be no services. ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN ENTRUSTED TO ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, CONNEAUT LAKE.

Inurnment will be in Our Lady Queen of America’s Cemetery, Conneaut Lake.
