Daniel S. George

Daniel S. George, 58, of Meadville, died Saturday, April 17, 1999 at the Crawford County Care Center.

He was born in Oil City, October 16, 1940, a son of the late Wade A. and Velma (Oiler) George.  He married Connie J. Powell, October 15, 1966 and she preceded him in death September 11, 1973.

He worked as a metallurgist for 20 years at Talon and then worked for 7 years at Channellock, Inc.  He was a 1958 graduate of Meadville High School and a 1964 graduate of Grove City College.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge #234 and a former member of the Zem Zem Shrine Temple, Erie.  He had also been a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Kelli Lynne) Granda, Jr. of Meadville; a son, Kevin Wade George of Wooster, OH; a sister, Mrs. Dale (Nancy) Hardner of Placentia, CA and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Piper.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
