David Floyd Shaw

August 22, 1884 — January 30, 1960

David Floyd Shaw, 75, died Saturday, January 30, 1960, at City Hospital following a short illness.

He had been a resident of Meadville since 1930 and was born in Mercer County, August 22, 1884, a son of William and Susan Jane Heasley Shaw.

He married the former Tina Small, who survives, on September 6, 1905.  He was a milk inspector for the Rieck-McJunkin Dairy Co. for 25 years before retiring in 1955.  He receieved his education in schools in Mercer County.

He was a member of Stone Methodist Church, Cussewago Odd Fellows Lodge 108, Olympas Encampment 82, Past Grands Assn., and was a member of the board of directors of the Meadville Odd Fellows Home.  He was grand marshal of Pennsylvania Grand Encampment.

Surviving besides his widow are a daughter, Mrs. Wayne C. (Dorothy) Byham of Rushford, NY; and until recently of Meadville; four sons, Howard L. of Cleveland, Ralph E. of Torrance, CA, William C. of Camden, NJ and Carl W. of North Hollywood, CA; a brother, Alfred H. of Mayville, NY and ten grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
