David Gary Brown

David Gary Brown, 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Brown, of Meadville, died Saturday, September 18, 1948 at Spencer Hospital from what his physician described as an attack of spinal meningitis.

The youngster, a 5th grader in West Mead Township School, had been a patient at the hospital for only 24 hours.  He was one of the West Mead students attending Second District School and had gone to classes until Thursday, his physician said.

He was a member of the Second District Schoolboy Patrol this semester.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Robert Bruce, at home, a senior in Meadville High School; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mildred M. Brown of Meadville; and his maternal grandfather, Claude L. Mays of Meadville.

Service were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
