Dennis A. Warp

Feb 26, 1948 — Oct 31, 2026

Meadville

Dennis Aurel Warp “Denny”, age 78, passed on to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 31, 2026, at Wesbury Community Retirement Center.

He was born in Meadville, PA, February 26, 1948, the son of the late George E. and Helen J. (Bachiak) Warp.

On May 25, 2004, Denny married Lois (Granda-Halsaver) barefoot on the beach on the island of Maui. She survives, as does her mother, Marilyn Granda, her sister Nancy (Dale) Turner and her brother Bill (Carol) Granda.

Denny graduated with the Meadville Area Senior High School class of 1966 and then volunteered for the U.S. Air Force. He served as an Electronic Signals Interceptor Specialist with top-secret cryptographic security clearances during the early stages of the Vietnam war. Following his honorable discharge, Denny returned to Meadville to begin a 30-year career in investment securities as a marketing officer of Penn Bank, as a managing partner of Carden Matthews and Associates, as an investment advisor with Prudential Bache and then through a series of mergers and acquisitions was an account executive and investment advisor with A.G. Edwards and Sons, Wachovia and Wells Fargo.

Denny devoted much of his time to community service as a scout leader and mentor for Junior Achievement. He had a seat on the Meadville Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Development Committee, served as secretary of Meadville Masonic Lodge #408, and was past Moderator of the former Emmanuel UCC.

He had a variety of interests, including archery, deep-woods camping, kayaking, and graphic design, and he believed in the strong likelihood of extra-terrestrial life visitors.

Never one to shy away from a personal challenge, he scuba dived in Presque Isle Bay and made an infamous parachute jump.

In addition to his parents, those who passed before him were his son, Matthew C. Warp, his brother Douglas G Warp and Doug's wife Pamela D (Shesky) Warp, step-son Dustin Halsaver, cousins Bruce Boyd (and his wife Anne), Charlene Thomas; and father-in-law Robert Granda. In addition, were Lois' brothers Gary and Robert and her sister Donna. Also, several aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Denny is survived by wife Lois Anne; his sister, Denise Warp (San Diego, CA) and her children Joshua Estes (Nicole and their children Elizabeth 'Ellie' and Ryan), Julia McCain (Justin and their children Eve and Nolan) and Jennifer Estes (Kai Ellison and their son Makoa); his nephew, Ryan D Warp (Kat and their children Shepherd, Asher and Luna Dawn) and his former brother-in-law Vern (Dinah) Estes.

His good friend, Jim 'Bones' Smith, was like family. Also surviving are his step-son, Matthew (Jolene) Halsaver and their children Chase and Paige and cousins Karen (Jay) Palmer, Barbara (David) Midcap-Speth and Linda (Terry) Zinz along with his great nieces and nephews.

Denny has donated his body to medical science in hopes that others might benefit, especially to find cures from his battle with COPD and undiagnosed nocturnal seizures, both of which took Denny from us too early. Even in death he is a kind and generous man.

Special thanks go to Dr. TJ Lamba, Dr. David Williams (Alisha, NP, and staff), Meadville Medical Center, Wesbury Community Center, and Gentiva Hospice for helping Denny through the last three months of his life.

At Denny's request, there will be no funeral services. A Celebration of Life is in the planning for a later date. Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
