Donald H. Klippel

Donald H. Klippel, 77, of Meadville, a former school board member, died Thursday, March 17, 1994, at Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.

He was born in Union Township, October 11, 1916, a son of Walter H and Elizabeth Berrie Klippel.  He married Ruth Bennett, November 6, 1938.  She survives.

He was self-employed as a building contractor.  He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ where for many years he served as a Sunday school teacher, consistory member and advisor to the church's youth group.  He was a member of the board of directors of St. John's Cemetery Assn. for many years.  He served 21 years on the Crawford Central School Board.  He was a member of Local 556 of the Carpenters' Union.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Walter E. Klippel of Maryville, TN; a daughter, Lila Beedle of Meadville; three sisters, Marian Kiser and Elsie Ernst, both of Meadville and Harriett Zarfoss of Deming, NM and three grandsons.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Grantham.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. John's Cemetery.
