Blair Plyler

Donald Blair Plyler, age 87, of Meadville, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 23, 2026, in UPMC Hamot, Erie.

He was born in Punxsutawney, PA on October 16, 1938, the son of Clark and Mildred (Young) Plyler.

He was a 1957 graduate of Marion Center High School and was employed as a supervisor in the packaging and shipping department at Channellock for 37 years.

On July 24, 1959, Blair married the former Joyce Berkey, she passed away January 28, 2021.

Blair was a member of Victory Family Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and woodworking

He is survived by six children, Susan Scott (Jeff) of Polk, Daniel Plyler (Deborah) of Guys Mills, Timothy Plyler (Wendy) of Meadville, Debra Hough (Ted) of Cambridge Springs, Michael Plyler (Mary) of Erie, and Donald Plyler (Jeannine) of Nescopeck; two sisters, Thelma Kitner (John) of Dillsburg, Eleanor Wharton (Herb) of Punxsutawney; a brother, Darrell Plyler (Shirley) of Punxsutawney; two sister-in-law’s, Janet Plyler, Ruth Plyler; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, four sisters, Alverda Milliron, Dorothy Beck, Doris Randall, Helen McMillen, two brothers, Wayne Plyler and Leonard Plyler.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE. Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00AM in the funeral home with Rev. Corey Norman officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
