Doris I. Smith

Doris I. Smith, 77, of Meadville, died Friday, February 18, 2000 at the Crawford County Care Center following a period of declining health.

She was born in Attica, NY, July 14, 1922, a daughter of the late Howard F. and Una I. Raymond Romasser.  She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John D. Smith, whom she married May 24, 1943.

She worked for many years in the Admissions office at Allegheny College.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Carol J. Andrews of Saegertown; a son, Peter O. Smith (Deborah) of Blooming Valley; a sister, Barbara Reeves of Collinsville, IL and five grandchildren, Alene Smith, Zebdiah Smith, Bess Andrews, Elsie Andrews and John Andrews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
