Dorothy B. Mckee

Dorothy B. McKee, 89, of the Baptist Home of Philadelphia, formerly of Meadville, a former teacher, died Tuesday, March 30, 1993, at her residence.

She was born in Johnsonburg, March 8, 1904, a daughter of the Rev. James H. and Fannie Butler Jelbart.  She married Maurice V. McKee, October 31, 1931.  He preceded her in death July 24, 1975.

She formerly was a teacher in Union City, Springfield and Meadville.  She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women of Meadville.  She was a graduate of Meadville schools, the Allegheny College Class of 1926 and the Meadville Conservatory of Music.  She was a member of the Crawford County and PA Retired Teachers' Assn., the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, Meadville Friends of the Library and the Zem Zem Clowns.  She formerly was a volunteer at the former City Hospital and a member of its auxiliary.  She formerly was a volunteer with the Red Cross Blood Bank.

Survivors include two sons, David B. McKee of Providence, NJ and the Rev. Douglas J. McKee of Fruita, CO; four grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
