Edgar S. Nageotte

Edgar S. Nageotte, 91, of 478 North Street, Meadville, died Thursday, September 12, 2002 at the Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Frenchtown, September 10, 1911, a son of Steve and Flora Conrad Nageotte.  He married Thelma Marie Cass March 21, 1942 and she preceded him in death May 29, 1993.

He retired in 1974 as a machinist with ABEX after 22 years of service.  Previously he had worked for 12 years in the machine shop of the Erie Railroad.  He was also a life long farmer, raising livestock and growing vegetables.

He was a member of the Vernon Vol. Fire Dept.  He was an avid Cleveland Indians Fan and he enjoyed his several trips to Canada, moose hunting.  He also enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Survivors, include two daughters, Eleanor Wills and her husband Richard of Meadville and Sondra Kightlinger and her husband Ben of Meadville; three sisters, Leora Lovell of Collegeville, OH, Edith Marley of Meadville and his twin sister, Edna Thompkins of Saegertown; a brother, Carl Nageotte of Meadville; six grandchildren, Jeanine Wills-Ray, Jennifer Zelasco (with whom he resided), Julia Ervin, Richard Wills, Jr., Mari Jane Wills and Jessica Birtciel; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Nichole Schlipf; five brothers, Wilford, Harold, Alton, Alvin and Alden Nageotte and two sisters, Marian Spieglemier and Frances Brown.

A private family service will be held with the Rev. Gerald Murphy, officiating.

Burial will be in Denny Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
