Edith A. Burns

Mrs. Edith A. Burns, 73, of Woodcock Township, wife of Glenn Burns, died Wednesday, December 10, 1980, at City Hospital following a sudden illness.

She was born at Franklin on November 13, 1907, a daughter of Raymond and Maud Ramsey Tidd.  She was first married Donald Battin, who preceded her in death.  She married Burns on September 28, 1974.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklin and a former member of the church's choir.  She retired in 1970 as a nurse's aid at Polk Center, Polk.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Donald Battin, Jr. of Cochranton; eight daughters, Mrs. D. W. (Betty) Rowan of Meadville, Mrs. Earl (Elenor) Allen of Cochranton, Mrs. William (Florence) Townley of Cambridge Springs, Mrs. Raymond (Shirley) Higby of Sugar Grove; Mrs. Budd (Barbara) Rice of Seneca, Mrs. Pauline Jones of Seneca, Mrs. Fred (Lois) Dawes of Rockland and Mrs. William (Joan) Ritchey of LaPalma, CA; four brothers, Harold E. Tidd of Franklin, Samuel Tidd of Franklin, Lawrence Tidd of Orlando, FL and Richard Tidd of Chicago; twenty-six grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Edward Battin.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Rockland Cemetery.
