Edward J. Pence, 79 of Stoneboro, passed away on March 13, 2026 at St. Vincent Hospital;. He was born in Stoneboro on July 25, 1946 to parents Charles R. Pence and Ada M. (Markwell) Pence.
Ed married his wife Nancy J. Bodien on November 22, 1969 and she survives at home.
Ed served his country in the U.S. Army, where he worked in tank operations while primarily stationed in Germany before later serving in the Vietnam War. He spent nearly 40 years working for Spang Power Control as a welder and coil winder. Ed was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In his free time Ed loved to hunt deer, turkey, and fish. He especially loved spending time after his retirement at his fishing camp in Canada with his big family.
In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by a son, Tab (Shelley) Pence; seven grandchildren and their families, Jess (Steve) Domville; Brittany (Scott) Zacherl, and their children Leyton, Julian, and Aislyn; Dalton (Jess) Pence and their daughter Harper; Courtney (Adam) Matthews and their daughter Daisy; Dylan (Ashlynn) Pence and their sons Carter and Owen; Hunter King and his significant other Taylor Gerlach; Cameron Pence and his fiancé Sarah Christy; he is further survived by his special nieces.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jason Owen Pence; and seven siblings, Betty Jean, Anna Jane, Don, Owen, Ina, Clark, and Roger.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to ROSE AND BLACK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro.
