Elliott Emerson McClearn

Elliott E. “John” McClearn, 80, of Wheeling, WV passed away on May 7, 2026 at Quality Life Services in Grove City, Pa with his family by his side.

He was born on October 16, 1945 in Stoneboro, Pa to the late Elliott Emerson and Elfie Blanche Moon McClearn.

John loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State football teams. He also served as a scoutmaster for the Boyscouts with his boys as they were growing up and coached Little League Baseball in Stoneboro, Pa.

John is survived by his wife, Paula, of Wheeling, WV; his sons, Patrick McClearn and wife, Sheila, of Grove City and Andrew McClearn and wife, Brandi, of Sharon; and a sister, Carolyn Alexander and husband, Bill, of Fairview Township, Mercer.

John was the beloved Grampy to 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and adored by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Berry; his sister, Roberta Pearce; and brother-in-law, Henry Pearce; and his sister, Sandra L. "Sandy" Osborn.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to ROSE AND BLACK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro where visiting hours will take place on Saturday, May 16 from 11am until 1pm. Inurnment will take place privately at the family’s convenience in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake.
