Elma L. Ridgeway

Elma L. Ridgeway, 83, of Meadville, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at her residence following a sudden illness.

She was born August 14, 1938 in Meadville, a daughter of Cliff and Eunice Barnett Smock.  She married David Charles Ridgeway July 2, 1966 and he preceded her in death November 27, 2014.

Elma was a homemaker.  She enjoyed walking and visiting with neighbors.  She cherished her family, especially time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Lippert (Ron, Jr.) of Centerville; a son, Danny Ridgeway of Meadville; a grandson, Arron Lippert (Jessica) of Meadville; a granddaughter, Kristina Hershberger (Josh) of Meadville; two great-grandchildren, Russell and Roslynn Lippert; a sister, Lucille McGowan of Meadville; a sister-in-law, Harriett Smock of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Zoey Paige Hershberger and two brothers, Edgar and Lloyd Smock.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, December 9th from 1-2 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rod Beardsley officiating.

Interment will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
