Elmer E. Rankin

Elmer E. Rankin, 72, of Meadville, died Monday, June 1, 1981, at City Hospital after a sudden illness.

He was born at McKeesport, May 6, 1909, a son of William and Amelia Ulig Rankin.  He married Mildred Schreck March 22, 1935.

He retired after 31 years of service as a conductor with the former Erie Lackawanna Railroad.  He was a member of Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and Erie Lackwanna Railroad Veterans Assn.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Clara) Naylor of Saegertown and a brother, Leonard Rankin of Cleveland.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
