Elta L. Shaffer

Miss Elta L. Shaffer, 93, of Meadville, and a patient at St. Paul Homes for one and a half years, died Friday, September 5, 1986, at Greenville Regional Hospital, following an illness of one and a half years.

She was born in Cooperstown, Venango County, September 17, 1892, a daughter of Henry and Lida Tompson Shaffer.

Miss Shaffer graduated from Edinboro State Normal School and was principal of Folsom School in the Philadelphia area for many years.  She was a member of McDaniel's Corners Bible Church.  She was a member of Meadville City Hospital Advisory Committee and was active in the American Red Cross.  She was also a member of the PA Retired Teachers Assn.

She is survived by several cousins.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
