Elton R. (Al) Sutliff, 90, of Meadville, died Wednesday, November 23, 1988, at home following a sudden illness.
He was born at Conneautville, December 4, 1897, a son of Edgar and Olive Clute Sutliff. He was a brakeman with the Bessemer Railraod for six years and was a switchman with the former Erie-Lackawanna Railroad for five years. He also worked part-time as a painter and paper hanger for his brother, Carl Sutliff, contractor for painting and papering. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Italian Civic Club.
He is survived by one brother, Clifford of Meadville and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
Services were held with the Waid Funeral Home.
