Ernest Gerdon

Ernest Gerdon, 82, of Richmond Township, died Sunday, June 22, 1958, at the Smith Institute  where he had been a patient since early March.

He was born January 1, 1876, in East Mead Township, a son of Martin and Marian Tavernier Gerdon.

A violinist, he also taught music and had played in the Academy Theater orchestra for 20 years during silent movie days.  He had spent most of his life in Meadville and was a member of Elks Lodge 219.

Several nieces and nephews survive.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
