Esther L. Steele

Esther L. Steele, a former resident of Meadville and Erie, and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville, since July 1995, died there Thursday, June 8, 2006.

She was born in Springboro, May 15, 1913, a daughter of the late Rev. Wilbur J. and Agnes Wygant Baldwin.  She married Kenneth E. Steele January 7, 1935 and he preceded her in death Dec. 25, 2000.

Esther was a graduate of Meadville High School and had attended Allegheny College for 2 years. She was a very talented musician and enjoyed playing the piano.

She was a homemaker and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Erie, and its United Methodist Women.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Nancy Marconi and her husband Philip of Monroe Twp., NJ, 1 son, Thomas E. Steele of Plattsburg, NY, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 1 sister, Aleta Zuck and her husband Clark of Meadville.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 1 sister, Ethel Polliard, and 2 brothers, Morris Baldwin and the Rev. Clarence Baldwin.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
