Esther M. Wasser, 90 of Greenville, formerly of Washington, NJ, passed away on January 8, 2022 at St. Paul’s in Greenville. Esther was born in Sandy Lake on June 26, 1931 to the late Frederick and Esther Lou Ellen (Greggs) Vath. She was a graduate of Sandy Lake High School. Esther worked as a homemaker taking care of her husband and children and also assisted at her husband's veterinary Hospital.
Esther was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Washington, NJ, she was a member of the Fire Department Auxiliary in Washington, NJ and the Veterinary Auxiliary of New Jersey. Esther enjoyed going horseshoe pitching with her husband, square-dancing, baking and sewing in her free time.
Esther married her beloved husband, Dr. Louis “Doc” Wasser, in 1955. He preceded her in death in 2005.
Left to cherish her memory are her four sons: Timothy and wife Donna of Lenhartsville, PA, William of Fayette, MO, Douglas and wife Diane of Kunkletown, PA, and John and his wife Betty of Hazen, NJ; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; sisters: Faye Marie, Nancy, Marian, and Sherry, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral home & Crematory, Inc. Stoneboro & Sandy Lake.
Celebration of Life Services in PA and NJ will be announced at a later date.
Memorials may be made in Esther’s name to the Washington Twp Fire Dept., 16 Pleasant Valley Road, Washington, NJ, or to St. Jude’s, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
