Esther P. Peterson

Esther P. Peterson, 85, formerly of Meadville and a resident of Beverly Health Care Meadville for the past four years, died there, Thursday, February 15, 2001 following a period of declining health.

She was born in Meadville, March 12, 1915, a daughter of Emil and Elizabeth Sheriff.  She married Homer E. Peterson March 12, 1943 and he preceded her in death, June 3, 1986.

She was a former member of the Mt. Hope Grange and a member of the Widowed Help organization.  She was also active at the Senior Center.

Survivors, include a stepdaughter, Ellen Marie Rohleder of Cochranton; a sister, Harriett Welsh of Meadville; two brothers, Victor Sheriff of St. Petersburg, FL and Clarence Sheriff of Erie; two step-grandchildren, Carol Herring and John Rohleder and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna White and Edith Sheriff and two brothers, Paul Sheriff and Willard Sheriff.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
