Ethel Mccrea Barrett

August 31, 1916 — July 7, 1991

Ethel McCrea Barrett, 74, of Meadville, a secretary, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 7, 1991, at Hamot Medical Center, Erie.

She was born in Eagle Rock, Venango County, August 31, 1916, a daughter of Peter and Margaret McKinney McCrea.  She married Hugh H. Barrett July 24, 1943.  He survives.

She was a secretary at Penn's Oil Co., Oil City, for 15 years, and a secretary for Factory Mutual Engineering Co., Pittsburgh for 10 years.  She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and a member of the Mary Circle of the United Methodist Women.  Barrett was a past member of the school board of the Keystone-Oaks School District.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Bruce A. Barrett of Meadville; two sisters, Miss Helen McCrea and Mrs. Margaret Clark, both of Oil City; and three grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Kellogg and Miss Hazel McCrea; and a brother, Harold McCrea.

Services were held at Stone United Methodist Church.

Interment was in Brandon Cemetery, Cranberry Township, Venango County.
