Eugene E. Sayre

Eugene E. Sayre, 54, of Conneaut Lake, died Saturday, November 13, 1976, at Veterans Hospital, Erie, after an extended illness.

A son of Ellis W. and Opel Wilmouth Sayre, he was born May 2, 1922, in Cambridge Springs.  He was employed at Channellock Inc. as a machine operator until March 1976.  He was a former operator of Gene's Barbershop, State Street.  He was a veteran of World War II with the US Navy, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and member of Meadville Elks Club.

He is survived by his widow, Hilda Birkart Sayre; a son, Joseph Sayre of San Luis Obispo, CA; a stepson, Frank Floyd of Saegertown; a stepdaughter, Mrs. William (Eva) Hanaway of Meadville; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Sayre of Meadville; a brother, George E. Sayre of West Lake, OH; five grandsons; several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
