Evalyn (Duff) Brown

Evalyn (Duff) Brown, 91, of Meadville, died Sunday, May 9, 1999 at Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.

She was born February 3, 1908 in Guys Mills, a daughter of the late Claude and Elizabeth Schweitzer Mays.  She married Robert E. Brown, July 31, 1929.  He preceded her in death October 6, 1972.

She was a graduate of the former Randolph High School.  She was a homemaker.  She was a very active member of Park Congregational Church where she was a member of the church's board of trustees for many years, an Elder emeritus, and ladies service club.  She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Golden Crown Chapter #44.

Survivors include two nephews, Dick Reese and Fred Brown, both of Conneaut Lake and a sister-in-law, Ruth Mays of Meadville.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, David and Robert Brown; one sister, Emma Reese; and two brothers, Audley and Ness Mays.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
