Florence L. Curtiss

Miss Florence L. Curtiss, 77, of Meadville, died at home Monday, August 19, 1974, following a lingering illness.

She was born in Meadville December 20, 1896, a daughter of Ell P. and Lavina McMillen Curtiss.

She was a retired piano teacher and music writer.  She was a 55-year member of Stone United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for 22 years.  She attended Allegheny College for two years and graduated from Edinboro Normal School.  She wrote several articles for "Etude" a music magazine.  She was a member of Meadville Grange.

Survivors include a sister, Miss Alice G. Curtiss of Meadville and several cousins.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
