Floyd Thomas "Tom" Hope, also known by many as the "Ginch", age 92 of Meadville, Pa. passed away peacefully on Monday December 15, 2025.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan July 27th, 1933, a son of Josephine (Lippert) and Harry Lee Hope.
He was a 1950 graduate of Randolph High School and also a graduate of Allegheny College with an associate's degree in engineering. He served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956. Retiring after 25 years from Astro Manufacturing in Shippenville, PA as VP of purchasing. Tom was a self-taught carpenter, after his retirement he took pride in building many family heirlooms for his family.
As an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and golfing. Hunting right up until a few weeks ago. He spent many years at the Hope camp "Ole Smokey" in Scandia, PA. Many memories were made there with family and friends. He also enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, taught himself the banjo and fiddle. Loved doing his daily crosswords and had a passion for reading science fiction. He especially enjoyed spending time at the VFW POST #2006.
On July 11, 1959, Tom married the former Nancy Schweitzer, she passed away June 9th, 1992.
He is survived by his three daughters, Julie Bean and her companion Tracey T. Turner, Nanette Hope and her companion Harold Reynolds, Mary Adkins and her husband Greg; a son, Alan Hope and his wife Debbie; Proud Papa to his six grandchildren Traci Leigh Jackson (Kirk), Kayla (Keenan) Rodriguez, Zack (Taylor) Adkins, Justin, Emily, Jeremy (Katelyn) Hope; five great grandchildren, Haley, Cloey, Benelli, Harlynn, Daxley and a great grandson due in February. Two great great grandchildren Marley Jo and Lennox Mooney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nancy, a sister Annette, two brothers Harry and Bob Hope, and a great great granddaughter Everleigh Mooney.
The family will be having a celebration of Tom's life with family and friends at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME AND CREAMTORY INC.
