Fred G. Dickey, 82, of Meadville, a driver for Wells Fargo Express Co. in Meadville in the early 1900s, died Wednesday, April 16, 1969, at City Hospital.
He was born in Mercer County December 3, 1886, a son of George and Emma Dickey. His wife, the former Florence Haas, died in 1942.
For a number of years before and after 1940, Mr. Dickey was a driver for the former Haas Posey Shop, becoming manager of its Kennedy Street Greenhouse in the late 1940s. He was a volunteer worker for the American Red Cross bloodmobile program in recent years and was a volunteer worker for the Easter Seal Society for Crippled Children and Adults of Crawford County in the late 1950s. He was a member of the Senior Citizens Assn. and was a 50-year member of Meadville Grange.
There are no known survivors.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
