Fred J. Cease

Fred J. Cease, 74, of Meadville, died late last night at City Hospital where he had been a patient for a week.

A son of the late David and Barbara Yorty Cease, he spent his early life in Hayfield Township before coming to Meadville in 1946.

He was a school teacher in Hayfield Township for several years and then became a farmer.  While in Meadville, he worked as a painter.

Surviving are his widow, Mary; a daughter, Mrs. Paul H. Whistler of Meadville; two sons, David J. Cease of Burbank, CA and Max A. Cease of La Mesa, CA; a brother, Victor of Erie; a half-sister, Mrs. Dora Mayo of Buffalo, NY; a half-brother, Donald Cease of Erie and five grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Brookhouser Cemetery, Saegertown.
