Frederick C. (Fred) Gisewhite

Frederick C. (Fred) Gisewhite, 82, of Meadville, died Wednesday, April 27, 1988, a Meadville Medical Center following an illness of two years.

He was born in Bellefonte, August 1, 1905, a son of John B. and Kathryn Grove Gisewhite.  He married Harriet Veith, April 18, 1928.  She preceded him in death May 13, 1976.

He retired as a foreman from the former American Viscose Co., where he worked for more than 40 years.  He was a member of Meadville Elks Lodge 219.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Floanne) Peterson of Meadville and Mrs. Larry (Jill) Perrotto of West Frankfor, IL; a son, Frederick (Fritz) Gisewhite of Akron, OH; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Orr and a brother, Jack Gisewhite.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
