Frederick P. Nies

Frederick P. Nies, 92, died on Thursday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. A. A. Childs of Meadville, after an illness of several months.

A former cooper by trade, Mr. Nies had more recently been employed in the Erie Railroad shops.  He came to the United States when 18 and, except for a few years spent at Franklin, lived in Meadville thereafter.

He leaves another daughter, Mrs. Glenn Noel of Diamond; a son, R. F. Nies of Meadville; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
