George E. Davis
March 31, 1892 — October 4, 1977
George E. Davis, 85, of Meadville, died at City Hospital Tuesday, October 4, 1977, after a five-week illness.
Born in Hayfield Township, March 31, 1892, he was a son of Thomas W. and Anna Muckinhaupt Davis. He married Edna N. Duncan, March 18, 1914. A farmer, he had lived at Meadville for the past 30 years. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church and was a graduate of Meadville Commercial College.
In addition to his widow, survivors include a sister, Mrs. Neva MacKey of Cochranton; a nephew, Karl Gerdon of Venango whom he raised since childhood; several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
