George E. Mears

George E. Mears, 64, of Saegertown, died Friday, May 2, 1986, at Meadville Medical Center after a month-long illness.

He was born in Uhrichsville, OH, May 11, 1921, a son of Jamie and Martha Grussey Mears.  He married Alice Brooks July 25, 1948.

Mr. Mears was employed as a mechanic for Talon, Inc., retiring in 1977.  He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. David (Wanda) Heimann of Warren; five sons, George Gift and Ernest Mears, both of Phoenix, AZ, Mark Mears of Reno, NV, Larry Mears of Cambridge Springs and Roy Mears of Saegertown; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Jo Malterer of Meadville, Mrs. Wilbur (Patricia) Rounds of Meadville and Mrs. Sidney (Anita) Michael of Port Charlotte, FL; two brothers, Samuel Mears of Guys Mills and Stanley Mears of Meadville; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline, and a brother, Crawford.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
