Georgeine Louise Long

Georgeine Louise Long, 93, of Meadville and a resident of Juniper Village since January died there, Sunday, September 12, 2021.

She was born May 5, 1928 in Clarion, PA a daughter of Clemens E. and Velma Pauline Kline Long.

She was a graduate of Meadville High School and first worked for Wirts Drug Store and Fanny Farmer Candies before working as a service dispatcher for 31 years for the former Alltel.  She attended Stone United Methodist Church and enjoyed swimming, dancing, walking, traveling, shopping, gambling and dinner theater.

She is survived by a niece, Jill Steiner (Arthur) of Meadville; a nephew, Jeff Long (Christine) of Defiance, OH; a great nephew, Kip Long; a great niece, Kiersten Long and a sister-in-law, Jane Long of Meadville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion, Jack Kilburn and a brother, Norman Long.

Calling hours will be Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Sarah Roncolato, Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
